New H.S. Volleyball Elite 8 (9/24)


1. Chester County (16-6) – The Eaglettes beat a trio of district opponents, including a five-set win over South Side. Last week: No. 1

2. TCA (12-5) – The Lady Lions beat District 15-A rival Madison in straight sets and beat Scotts Hill. Last week: No. 3

3. Crockett County (13-14) – The Lady Cavaliers dropped just their second match to a team in West Tennessee – TCA and Dyersburg. Last week: No. 6

4. Madison (17-6) – The Lady Mustangs reached the championship match of a tournament in Dyer County, but dropped a district match to TCA. Last week: No. 5

5. Lexington (17-6) – The Lady Tigers went 5-0 on the week with two District 14-AA wins and two wins against teams that were ranked in the Elite 8. Last week: No. 7

6. South Side (17-6) – The Lady Hawks lost two key District 14-AA matches in five sets to Chester County and Lexington. Last week: No. 4

7. USJ (8-6) – The Lady Bruins dropped two matches on the week to region opponents. Last week: No. 2

New H.S. Volleyball Elite 8 (9/17)


1. Chester County (13-6) – The Eaglettes dropped just one set in four matches last week and seem to be finding form. Last week: No. 2

2. USJ (8-4) – After opening the week with a loss, the Lady Bruins beat two region opponents to close out the week. Last week: No. 1

3. TCA (10-5) – The only team from West Tennessee that the Lady Lions have lost to is Chester County. Last week: No. 3

4. South Side (14-4) – The Lady Hawks didn’t drop a set in three wins last week, but a big district contest looms today against Lexington. Last week: No. 4

5. Madison (12-4) – The Lady Mustangs swept two district opponents and won a trimatch last week. Last week: No. 5

6. Crockett County (10-13) – The Lady Cavaliers went 0-7 this past weekend in a tournament in Brentwood. Crockett County though has only lost to one West Tennessee opponent in TCA. Last week: No. 6

7. Lexington (12-6) – The Lady Tigers lost two matches last week and playing without Caylee Burnine hurts. Last week: No. 7

8. Trenton Peabody (6-4) – The Lady Tide won two matches last week to rise about .500 on the season. Last week: No. 8

1. USJ (6-3) – The Lady Bruins split four matches on the week, but the losses were to some tough competition in CPA and ECS. Last week: No. 1

2. Chester County (9-6) – The Eaglettes went 1-4 in the River City Tournament, but played two of the losses to three sets. Chester County also beat district rival South Side on the week. Last week: No. 2

3. TCA (7-5) – The Lady Lions also went 1-4 in the River City Tournament, playing some much bigger schools. Last week: No. 3

4. South Side (11-4) – The Lady Hawks split a pair of district games on the week. Last week: No. 4

5. Madison (8-4) – The Lady Mustangs won a pair of games over Class A competition. Last week: No. 5

6. Crockett County (9-6) – The Lady Cavaliers didn’t drop a set in the two matches last week. Last week: No. 6

7. Lexington (11-4) – The Lady Tigers went 3-0 with two straight-set victories over district opponents. Last week: No. 7

8. Trenton Peabody (4-4) – The Lady Tide are 2-0 in Region 7-A play and are continuing to improve as the season progresses.

New Volleyball Elite 8 (9/3)


1. USJ (4-1) – The Lady Bruins picked up two wins in Division II-A West Region play. FACS and ECS loom this week, which were both losses last year. Last week; No. 2

2. Chester County (6-2) – The Eaglettes suffered a loss to Dyersburg, but picked up a big win over previously No. 1 TCA. Last week No. 5

3. TCA (5-1) – The Lady Lions dropped their first game of the season in five sets to Chester County. The Lady Lions have Milan this week before traveling to the River City Tournament on the weekend. Last week: No. 1

4. South Side (10-3) – The Lady Hawks suffered a bad loss to Dyer County to start the week, but responded with three wins to close out the week. Last week: No. 3

5. Madison (6-4) – The Lady Mustangs lost to two Class AAA opponents, but Madison wasn’t blown out in either match. The Lady Mustangs then regrouped to win a key District 15-A match. Last week: No. 4

6. Crockett County (7-6) – The Lady Cavaliers responded from the five-loss weekend last week to go 3-0 this past week. Last week: No. 6

7. Lexington (8-4) – After losing four straight matches, the Lady Tigers came back to win two District 14-AA contests to close out the week. Last week: No. 7

8. Milan (7-5) – The Lady Bulldogs are back to holding a winning record after the second week of the season. Last week: Not ranked
